skeyes completes upgrade of air traffic control system

Steenokkerzeel, 19 May 2025 – During the night of Saturday 17 to Sunday 18 May, skeyes, the Belgian provider of air navigation services, carried out a software upgrade of the Eurocat air traffic control system.

This upgrade covered both the control towers and the en-route control centre in Steenokkerzeel.

These upgrades are essential to continue meeting the evolving safety requirements in the aviation sector.

To minimise the impact on air traffic, the operation was scheduled during a Saturday night – traditionally the quietest time of the week. The interventions proceeded exactly as planned and caused no disruption to air traffic.
